Volunteer Directly with Clients

Prepare and Serve Meals | Volunteers plan, prepare, and serve meals to LifeMoves clients, donating nutritious food and serving those in need with compassion and care.

Host a Community-Building Party | Volunteers plan fun community-building events for the shelter residents, such as birthday parties, movie nights, picnics, and holiday celebrations.

Improve a Shelter Facility

Organize Donations | Volunteers organize donations at our facilities and help the items they need, such as clothing, food, and school supplies—donated directly to people in need.

Maintain and Beautify Facilities | Volunteers generously donate their time and supplies to clean, paint, maintain, and beautify our shelters so that clients are housed in welcoming, dignified communities.

Tend the Organic Garden | Volunteers help dig, weed, plant, and harvest the gardens at LifeMoves shelters, which provide fresh fruits, vegetables, and flowers to residents.

Volunteer with Children

Tutor Children and Youth | Volunteer tutors support students in the computer labs and children’s centers, helping them complete their homework assignments and excel academically.

Lead Children’s Activities | Volunteers at our family shelters help supervise children and lead playtime activities, such as arts and crafts, reading time, computer learning, storytelling, and more.

Volunteer as a Camp Counselor | Summer Adventure Camp is an on-site camp for children at LifeMoves shelters for homeless families. For more information about LifeMoves Summer Adventure Camp and to apply to be a Summer Camp Counselor, click here.

Advocate and Educate

Host a Donation Drive | Volunteers host donation drives for items given directly to LifeMoves clients, such as gift certificates, school supplies, bedding, toiletries, business clothing, and kitchen items.

Outreach to the Community | Advocate for LifeMoves and spread the word about how the community can help end homelessness by hosting a “party with a purpose” to collect funds or needed items.

Apply for an Internship | Students may apply for an internship throughout the year to gain hands-on experience in human services and nonprofit management.
