Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF)

LifeMoves | Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) is a housing assistance program established to prevent and end homelessness for Veteran families and single adults in San Mateo County. The SSVF program is co-managed by LifeMoves and Samaritan House.

LifeMoves | SSVF services for Veterans who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness may include:

  • Move­-in costs, such as: security deposit, first month’s rent, utility deposit, moving expenses
  • Possible short-­term rent subsidy
  • Case management
  • Information and referrals
  • Auto repair
  • Transportation assistance

Services are provided on a case by case basis

Eligibility

To qualify for SSVF assistance, clients must be:
  • Veterans who have served at least 1 day of active duty, discharge can be anything but “dishonorable”
  • Families with children OR adult individuals
  • Must meet certain income criteria
