Administration

Position Summary:

Responsible for the planning, development, coordination and training for LifeMoves clinical services and programs. Works with senior leadership, program directors and staff, in the development, planning, implementing, and monitoring of clinical services.  Responsible for ensuring compliance with clinical programs requirements.

Position Duties:

  • Demonstrates strong clinical leadership to support teams in the adoption and implementation of agency-wide clinical goals and objectives. Provides leadership in formulating the goals and objectives of the educational programs of LM.
  • Develops and oversees the internship program for LM MSW and mental health interns including provision of clinical supervision.
  • Leads the development and implementation of outcome measures and quality improvement activities for clinical services across the agency.
  • Oversees Education programs for clients, including children’s services and summer camp program.
  • Stays abreast of and promotes the use of best practices in the provision of clinical services across the agency
  • Holds, chairs, attends and participates in committees, task forces and meetings for coordination/facilitation of clinical services at the program and agency level
  • Develops relationships with key clinical funding sources, including government agencies, healthcare providers, and other non-profit agencies to develop and implement programs that will benefit LifeMoves’ clients.
  • Ensures overall compliance with MediCal standards and best practices; utilizes licensure to approve necessary documentation and meet regulatory requirements. Directly manages all interaction with funders’ audit functions in conjunction with MediCal Manager.
  • Works directly with Program staff to ensure that clinical standards are understood and followed.
  • Ensures that services meet both safety standards and legal requirements of licensing and regulatory bodies
  • Assists management staff and HR in identifying and planning for staff in-service training needs and providing learning opportunities for development of staff. Defines standards and requirements for clinical staffing, including licensing requirements and manages with HR and Programs to ensure adequate staffing to meet clinical needs.
  • Provides consultation on mental health and addiction issues to staff; coordinates mental health emergency and crisis response activities
  • Responsible for financial performance of Clinical Programs. Develops budgets with CFO and manages to achieve financial targets.  Works with Finance organization to ensure effective billing processes for Medi-Cal and other clinical programs.

Position Qualifications: 

  • Master’s Degree/PHD in Social Work or PHD in Psychology, with at least five years of extensive inpatient patient/client and management experience
  • Licensed to practice in the State of California in respective mental health or social work discipline
  • Minimum of three to five years’ experience in supervision of a multi-disciplinary clinical team and ability to provide direct supervision for licensing candidates.
  • Experience in the management of financial resources and budgetary planning
  • Demonstrated skills to mentor, lead and supervise professional, clinical trainees, and support staff
  • Demonstrated understanding of large clinical service delivery systems
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of partners including colleagues, students, and community stakeholders
  • Experience working with student populations and/or experience in a higher education setting
  • Knowledge and relevant experience of data base management, program evaluation, and clinical services coordination.

Position Summary:

The Annual Giving Manager is responsible for developing and managing the strategy of a comprehensive annual giving program focused on individuals with estimated giving capacity up to $1,000. This established annual giving program will contribute over $800,000 to the organization’s total revenues in 2018-2019 fiscal year, increasing annually.

Position Duties:

  • Develop the strategy, content, messaging and timeline of multi-channel donor communications and annual fund campaigns
  • Collaborate with Marketing team and outside consultants and vendors as necessary
  • Design and implement a well-thought out stewardship plan and process with a keen appreciation for the foundation of annual giving as the enabling component of successful major gift programs
  • Expand the annual fund and manage other annual giving vehicles to engage a broad spectrum of individuals, community and faith based organizations
  • Cultivate and solicit a personal portfolio to move these prospects towards established goals, working collaboratively with other members of Individual Giving and Development teams
  • Partner with development operations on data tracking and analysis to inform annual giving strategies
  • Regularly attend and make group presentations to engage, educate and cultivate diverse audiences of LifeMoves
  • Manage community group relationships and grant application processes. Leverage existing events to grow and advance the strategic goals of the organization
  • Help LifeMoves stay abreast of best practices and successful trends in successful annual giving
  • Direct and oversee the activities of the summer Development intern including workload prioritization and professional development

Qualifications Needed: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years of increasing responsibility in a Development or related role
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge base of annual giving programs, including direct mail and online campaign/mass marketing experience
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • High level of capability with Microsoft Office Suite, donor database software (Salesforce preferred), and online marketing and email platforms (Classy and Campaign Monitor preferred)

Position Summary: The Gift Officer will be an integral part of the Individual Giving team and is responsible for developing and managing the strategy of a comprehensive major gifts program focused on individuals with an estimated giving capacity of $1000-$5000. The role includes opportunities to fundraise through individual solicitation, special events, volunteer activities that will contribute over $4.1M to the organization’s total revenues in 2018-2019 fiscal year, increasing annually.

Position Duties:

  • Manage a portfolio of 125-150 donors ($1000 +) to expand the base of support from “middle” level donors
  • Create individual stewardship and cultivation plans for each donor and conduct effective site visits and face to face meetings, incorporating planned and complex gift opportunities when possible
  • Work with Programs, Marketing and Grants teams to create gift proposals and stewardship reports
  • Ensure all donors receive appropriate, prompt acknowledgement and updates on the impact of their gifts
  • Regularly attend and make group presentations to engage, educate and cultivate diverse audiences of LifeMoves

Position Summary:

The Sr. Manager of Talent Acquisition Manager will implement innovative recruitment and onboarding strategies to hire and retain the highest quality candidates for LifeMoves. Supervises Recruitment Talent partner and day to day recruitment operations.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages full cycle recruiting process to meet the various staffing goals across all levels of the agency within multiple business units
  • Prepares and maintains statistical reports related to recruitment and retention

 Position Summary:

LifeMoves seeks a professional and dynamic Program Director oversee a new program targeting to serve young adults from the LGBTQ community. Under the direction of the Associate VP of Programs & Services, the Program Director is responsible for the day to day management and operations of the LGBTQ+ program. The Program Director supervises staff, interns, and volunteers, and is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality services that enable clients to achieve stable housing and self-sufficiency.

  • Develop appropriate program procedures, policies, and forms and ensure their implementation
  • In collaboration with the Associate VP of Programs & Services develop and implement annual program plan and annual budget
  • Coordinate program development in the following areas: job development, follow-up program, donations, food services, volunteers, recreational activities for clients, and other areas as needed
  • Supervise case management staff and, at times, provide direct services to clients
  • Ensure development and facilitation of, workshops, and support groups as needed
  • Address client appeals and grievances

Qualifications Needed: 

  • Bachelors in Psychology, Sociology or other humanities field required; Masters in Social Work or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of non-profit management experience
  • Experience developing, managing, evaluating and operating programs serving homeless populations
  • Strong written and oral communication, personnel management, conflict resolution, and clinical supervision skills are necessary.
  • Strong knowledge of substance abuse and relapse prevention, mental health issues, and domestic violence is required.
  • Lived experience in the LGBTQ+ community preferred

Position Summary: The Outreach Case Manager will work throughout San Mateo County identifying unsheltered homeless people residing in homeless encampments and other places not meant for human habitation. The Outreach Case Manager will utilize a multidisciplinary approach to engage the hardest to serve homeless in an effort to connect them to services. Responsibilities include providing outreach and intensive case management to unsheltered homeless individuals, perform screening assessments, make appropriate referrals, connect clients to social services, and keep up-to date case files.

Case Management

  • The Outreach Case Manager will be in the field 70% of the time
  • Provide outreach and intensive case management services to unsheltered homeless individuals
  • Identify target population, perform screening assessments, make appropriate referrals, and provide linkage to primary care, mental health, short term residential stabilization, and other social services offered through the continuum of care (CoC)
  • Develops, implements and revises individual case plans and consistently monitors progress toward client goals
  • Provide on-going supportive and/or case management functions in accordance with the case/treatment plan
  • Communicate appropriately as needed with probation officers, social workers and family members
  • Participates actively as a team member in supporting clients and the facility as needed
  • Maintains client and program records in accordance with applicable standards and regulations, grant requirements, etc.
  • Maintains a high level of ethical conduct regarding confidentiality, dual-relationships, and professional stature
  • Participates in continuing education activities, remaining knowledgeable in area(s) of expertise
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications Needed: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology or related field, with a minimum of two years’ case management experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proven ability to collaborate with community partners
  • Understanding of the issues faced by homeless individuals and other marginalized populations in crisis
  • Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Experience working with mentally ill and dually diagnosed clients highly desirable

LifeMoves is currently seeking experienced, motivated and team orientated Floating Master of Social Work Clinical Case Managers. The successful candidates will be provide a full range of case management services on floating basis in either San Mateo or Santa Clara counties. LifeMoves Case Managers work collaboratively with staff and clients, with the goal of developing self-sufficiency and identifying and securing permanent housing for those we serve. This role will also have the opportunity provide field instruction for students in LifeMoves’ MSW internship program.                           

MSW, Clinical Case Manager Position Duties:

  • Develops, implements and revises individual case plans and consistently monitors clients’ progress toward goals
  • Ensure regular communication with probation officers, social workers, and family members, regarding client’s treatment progress, etc., when appropriate.
  • Works with supervisory assistance to evaluate recommendation on client extension appeals and grievances
  • Consults and cooperates with community systems to facilitate linkage, referral, crisis management, advocacy, and follow up with the focus on attaining treatment goals
  • Leads a minimum of two clinical or life skills group
  • Maintains client and program records in accordance with applicable standards and regulations, grant requirements, etc.
  • Maintains a high level of ethical conduct regarding confidentiality, dual-relationships, and professional stature
  • Participates in continuing education activities, remaining knowledgeable in area(s) of expertise
  • Attends weekly case consultation meetings and monthly training(s); meet regularly with supervisor to exchange pertinent information and receive supervision

Field Instructor Position Duties:

  • Serve as field instructor for up to 5 MSW student interns. This may including supervising students at Clinical Case Manager’s own site in day-to-day task management, and/or students at other sites who have an additional task manager onsite.
  • Create learning agreements and complete evaluations in collaboration with each student and their university.
  • Provide weekly individual supervision to offer clinical consultation, oversight, and training.
  • Provide ongoing, regular training and feedback to interns around case management responsibilities.
  • Consult and meet with university field liaisons around intern progress once per semester or as needed.
  • Consult with and follow directives of site Program Director and MSW Program Manager as appropriate.

 Qualifications:

  • Master of Social Work (MSW) and two years post-MSW experience working in the field of social work required
  • Minimum of two years’ experience working with homeless individuals and other marginalized populations in crisis
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proven ability to collaborate with other agencies
  • Experience working with clients with mental health and dual diagnoses
  • Understanding of the issues faced by disenfranchised populations
  • Reliable transportation
  • Bi-lingual capabilities are helpful

LifeMoves is seeking energetic and passionate candidates to serve as Residential Counselors throughout our site based programs and services. The Residential Counselors primary role and responsibility is to provide safety supervision to program participants; and, work collaboratively with other staff in assisting clients towards the goals of stable housing and long-term self sufficiency.  Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong attention to detail, multi-tasking, diplomatic limit setting and self-starter attitude. Duties include, but are not limited to: client exit and entry supervision, monitor client activities ensuring program rules are adhered, answering phones, accepting donations and helping maintain cordial neighborhood relations.

Residential Counselor Openings:

  • Montgomery Street Inn provides emergency housing for men | PT, Day Sat/Sun; PT, Swing Sat/Sun
  • Julian Street Inn provides emergency housing for men and women | FT, Swing Thursday – Sunday; PT, Swing Fri/Sat/Sun; PT, Grave Saturday;
  • New Haven Inn (LGBTQ+ & TAY focused) provides emergency housing for men and women | FT, Day Monday-Friday; FT, Swing Thursday-Sunday; PT, Grave Monday;
  • Relief/On-Call Needed For All Shifts at All Sites

Residential Counselor Qualifications:

This is an entry level position that will help you gain real life work experience working with the homeless and serving marginalized populations.  We are seeking passionate, team orientated individuals who have a real desire to serve our community and help fight against homelessness.

  • A minimum of high school diploma or GED required.
  • A BA/BS in Social Services, Education a plus.
  • Personal or professional experience/education working with mental health clients a plus.
  • Bilingual/Spanish speaking preferred, but not mandatory
  • Starting hourly rate $17-18

J.D. Vance is an investor, commentator, and author of the #1 New York Times best seller Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis, described by the National Review as a “brilliant book” and by The Economist as “one of the most important” reads of 2016. Ron Howard and Brian Grazer of Imagine Entertainment have announced plans to produce a movie based on Vance’s book.

Raised by his working-class grandparents in Middletown, Ohio, Vance graduated from Middletown High School in 2003 and then immediately enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. During his time in the Marines, he deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

When he finished his four-year enlistment, Vance enrolled at Ohio State University, where he studied political science and philosophy, and helped coordinate the university’s bipartisan voter education drive in 2008. After graduating from college, he studied at Yale Law School, where he worked at Yale’s Veterans Legal Services Clinic, providing free legal counsel to veterans of our nation’s wars in Vietnam and Iraq. Vance earned his law degree in 2013.

After a stint at a large corporate law firm, Vance moved to San Francisco to work in the technology industry. He serves as a principal at the leading Silicon Valley venture capital firm Mithril Capital, cofounded by Peter Thiel and Ajay Royan. As an investor, Vance has taken a special interest in the biotechnology industry and other transformative sectors of the economy.

In early 2017, Vance joined as a partner in AOL founder Steve Case’s venture capital company, Revolution LLC, which concentrates on bolstering entrepreneurship and disruptive, high-growth companies outside of the sphere of Silicon Valley. He also returned home to Ohio to found Our Ohio Renewal, a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing the state’s opioid crisis and bringing high-quality employment and educational opportunities to Ohioans.

He regularly discusses politics and public policy, having appeared on ABC, CBS, and FOX News, and currently serving as a contributor on CNN. Vance lives in Columbus, Ohio, with his wife, newborn son, and two dogs, where he works on his nonprofit and investment activities.
