Legacy Giving

Create Your Legacy

A gift for LifeMoves in your will, trust, or other estate plans will ensure that homeless individuals and families will receive the temporary shelter and supportive services needed to return to stable housing and self-sufficiency far into the future. There are many different ways you can arrange a meaningful legacy gift to LifeMoves.

Gifts Through Your Will or Trust

This is the most common type of legacy gift. Through your will or trust, you can arrange to leave LifeMoves a specific dollar amount, an asset such as real estate or stock, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder after specific gifts to loved ones have been made.

Gifts Through Your Retirement Plan or Life Insurance

You can name LifeMoves as the beneficiary of your IRA, 401(k), 403(b), life insurance policy, or other account. These gifts are easy to arrange or modify. All you need to do is complete a beneficiary designation form from your plan administrator to name LifeMoves a beneficiary of all or part of your retirement account or life insurance policy.

Gifts That Provide Income and Tax Benefits

It is possible to establish a gift with cash, appreciated securities, or real estate that will support LifeMoves in the future and provide significant benefits to you. A charitable remainder trust can provide you with a significant charitable income tax deduction, avoidance of all or part of capital gain taxes, and regular payments to you or a loved one.

You also may be able to donate the remainder interest in your home or other property that allows you to continue using your property for the rest of your life and receive a tax deduction for your gift.
