Bruce Ives is the CEO of LifeMoves where he oversees all functions of the largest provider of homeless shelter and services in Silicon Valley. Prior to LifeMoves, he gained extensive management and leadership experience during 19 years at Hewlett-Packard where he held diverse positions on the legal team culminating in his role as Senior Vice-President and Deputy General Counsel. While at Hewlett-Packard, Bruce also founded and led their pro bono program, helping countless tenants, veterans, and domestic violence survivors, as well as others who needed but could not afford legal services.
Bruce’s lifetime commitment to public service began with his first job out of college at an inner-city school district. After law school, he joined the Los Angeles Public Defender’s office and then worked on political campaigns at the national, state and local levels. He went on to become the District Director for Congresswoman Anna Eshoo in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. A resident of Menlo Park, he was an elected Trustee of the Menlo Park School District and served on the Board of Directors of Public Advocates, a public interest law firm that works on issues of housing and education equity. He currently serves as Immediate Past President of Congregation Beth Am in Los Altos Hills. Bruce earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
