On Tuesday, we woke up to the certainty of a new President-elect. No matter who won your vote, we all sit with uncertainty about what the future holds under a new Administration. Many of us may be anxious about what this means for our communities over the next 4 years. Will we have the funding we need for critical services? Will housing remain affordable? Will jobs be available and pay an adequate wage to live in our area?

With over 40 years of service to Silicon Valley, LifeMoves remains unwavering in our commitment to ending homelessness. Now, more than ever, we need you and our entire community to come together to ensure that people remain our top priority, no matter our politics.

Informed by President Trump’s first term and policy positions from the recent campaign cycle, we anticipate that a second term will include reduced government-funding for social services and housing. Our work to serve our unhoused neighbors facing extreme uncertainty in their daily lives—families, individuals, couples, seniors, Veterans… all people just like you and me—will continue. Millions of middle and working-class Californians are now facing a previously unthinkable reality: the threat of homelessness. The challenges and uncertainty may increase now, but we will not be deterred.

Politics may ebb and flow, but real change starts at the community level. Every day, our team works with dedication to deliver critical services and transformative programs that empower our clients and elevate our communities.  Last year, we served 7,500 individuals and families experiencing homelessness. All of this is made possible through your continued generosity; your gifts sustain and inspire our work into the future as public funds decrease and the demand for our work remains high.

You can help us ensure that every person experiencing homelessness in our community has the necessary resources to attain self-sufficiency and a safe and a dignified place to call home.
